Chase For The Nextel Cup Standings After Race 32 Of 36

Jeff Gordon won the Subway 500 on Sunday and swept the seasonstwo races at Martinsville Speedway known for being the oldest,shortest (.526 miles), and tightest run in NASCAR's high endstock car series. Jeff succeeded only after holding on to athree-lap dash with Tony Stewart who finished as the runner up.He beat Stewart to the finish line by .235 seconds. Tony's placement allowed him to gain 15 points in the Chase overJimmie Johnson who placed third in the race. There were otherChase contenders, though, who suffered setbacks including MarkMartin, Carl Edwards and Rusty Wallace. Martin and Edwards hadfinished 34th and 26th, respectively. Wallace was running
