The next season 1974-75 saw the team starting with a terrific start where they lost just 1 out of 10 games. Progressing steadily year after year, the New York Islanders made a mark in the NHL history. They regularly put up a brave and a tough fight whenever they were in the arena and their hard work soon paid off.
They soon became a dominant team and won the Stanley Cup for four continuous years in the early 1980’s.
The Present Day Islanders
The current coach of the team is Ned Nolan. It has been under his supervision that the team has won 6 out of 8 games in the first quarter of the season. Some strong players of the team are Ryan Smithy, Rick DiPietro, Mike Comrie, Ruslan Fedotenko, Andy Sutton, Jon Sim and Josef Vasicek.
