Gibbons Investigated By Mlb Officials

Jay Gibbons, outfielder of the Baltimore Orioles, was requested in a meeting with MLB officials, as he has been linked with the use of performance-enhancing steroids and the Human Growth Hormone, after both drugs were banned.
Whit this, Gibbons becomes the second of four players that have been reportedly linked with the use of this kind of substances.
According to the reports, Gibbons received shipments of Genotropin (a brand of the Human Growth Hormone), testosterone and HCG, which is a hormone used to stimulate the production of testosterone.
Gibbons met with the officials on Monday at New York, and the meeting was attended by the vice president of labor and human resources Rob Manfred, the sport’s director of drugs testing Jon Coyles, the counsel of the Players Association Michael Weiner and Seth Levinson, one of Gibbon’s agents.
The
other 3 players questioned are Rick Ankiel, of the Cardinals, who met the officials last week; Troy Glauss of the Blue Jays and the Angels’ Gary Mattews, whom haven’t been interviewed yet.
After the meeting, Gibbons said that “I met with Major League representatives and was happy to answer all of their questions.”
It hasn’t been informed yet if these players are going to be asked to testify before the MLB Committee.
